Live on Cam Tips

Posted on 03 February 2009 by bouncer

Ok, you’ve joined the hottest cam site online and your ready to make bank but you just can’t seem to pull in as much money as you expected. This could be due to a few things you can fix quite easily, we are going to provide you with some great tips to help extend your times in private and also increase your overall consistency of privates. The first thing you should do when you become a model on any site is check out some of the shows being done by other models, this will allow you to get a feel for whats actually going on and how the members react.

Many first time models just sit in front of the webcam like a deer in the headlights, immediately the members will know your a newbie and most likely try to take advantage of you by trying to persuade you to give them freebies because your new. You need to sit down in front of the cam with a smile on your face ready to have FUN, it will be a lot easier for you to make money, don’t get on cam thinking i’m going to work, your going to have FUN. If your not having fun then neither is the member, the longer he or she is having fun the more money you are going to make.

  1. Don’t be afraid to speak up, members are more interested in hearing you speak to them, then they are in you typing a conversation to them, not that typing is bad but they would prefer you to speak to them if possible. English is the primary language of most of the members on cam sites, so the better your English the better/longer the conversations will be. Remember they don’t know who you really are so have some fun with it make up stories or encounters that you’ve had in your day to day life to keep them interested. You will have return customers who want you to “update” them on your life if you nail this skill down. Most models who have experience can keep a member busy with talking for 10-15 minutes before they even take one article of clothing off. This will not work in every case as you will find out but it’s worth attempting to talk to the members as it can pay off. You will get pushy members who don’t want to talk to you and just want you to get naked. That is fine also you will just have to deal with these members, money is money.
  2. Make sure you have all of your accessories close by. Members don’t want you walking away from the show to get your favorite toy or new outfit. So keep a nice assortment next to your work area so you can grab what you need quickly and get back to the show. Keeping the members attention is one of the keys to making money in cams.
  3. When conversing with a member make sure you use the members nickname or real name if they provide it to you, it will show that you are interested in them and bring the conversation down to a more personal level. If the members name is long and uneasy to type then shorten it to something easy for you to re-type over and over.
  4. It is important that your prepared when you get on cam, you should basically look like you are ready to go on a friday night to meet someone. So hair should be done, make up should be done, you should be dressed in something sexy, try not to wear the same outfit everytime your on cam, switch it up.
  5. When in “free chat” make sure that you are not giving all of your attention to just one member, if you have a mic hooked up talk to the members as it is easier to interact with multiple members by speaking then it is to type to them all. Once your in private you can give your attention soley to the person who is paying for the show.
  6. Give your clients an idea of your schedule, at the end of the show let them know when you will be on next. If you tell a client you will be on at a certain make sure you are on at that time as you may lose clients by being late or not showing up on cam at all during the specified time.

The Basics

Posted on 02 February 2009 by bouncer

So your considering becoming a live webcam chat host on an adult website, there’s a few things we think you should know before you jump into this business. First off, if this is the first time working on a live cam site then you should do some research. The number one reason models walk away from this industry is the simple lack of knowledge about how this business is run and a large amount of shady cam companies out there trying to scam their models out of time and money. We hear sob stories from models all the time complaining that the last company they worked with screwed them out of money or stole their personal information and now they don’t know who to trust. The easiest way to avoid this happening to you is by doing research.

When your just starting out you will most likely be confused about how a lot of it works and you don’t necessarily have someone there to explain all the details or advise you on which sites to put your trust in.  There are a very  select few chat host forums available to use as a resource but even then you can only trust people on the forums to a point. Remember people will refer you to just about any site to get a referral bonus it doesn’t necessarily mean you will make good money on that site.

So what should you be looking for in a cam site.

  1. Solid Reputation
  2. Lots of Members
  3. Pay Per Min Payment Model
  4. Weekly or Bi- Weekly Payments
  5. Multiple Payment Methods
  6. Quality Support
  7. Quick Setup  Process
  8. Follows all Legal Guidelines
  9. Consistency In Privates
  10. Easy To Use Streaming Video Software

These are just some basic things you should be looking for in a prospective cam site. You will notice not every cam site is perfect and some will provide higher quality service in some areas than others.  So the real question is “what do you want from a cam site?”

As you may or may not know this business is usually conducted from the privacy of ones home. Limited equipment is required to get started, most sites only require you to have a computer, webcam and high speed internet connection. If you have those three things already then you are one step ahead, you will not have to worry about purchasing anything. If any cam site tries to charge you a setup fee or any other type of fee they are most likely just looking to make a quick buck off you and will not provide you with a quality site to work on. The only things you should have to purchase are the three required pieces of equipment that we’ve mentioned above.

Purchasing a webcam can also be a confusing task as many prospective models normally already have a computer and internet connection. This can be an expensive lesson if you are not careful, as most models have the mentality that they will purchase the cheapest one they can find. This can backfire big time,  by purchasing a “cheap” webcam you are also sacrificing the quality of video that you will be able to stream, which mean less time in private and less consistent privates. The webcam that we recommend to every model is the Logitech Pro 9000 this webcam is reasonably priced and the quality of video and audio is superb, the only “drawback” is that this camera runs around $60-80, right now you are probably thinking that is a pricey investment to make, but when you think about your potential return on a $60-80 investment, this little computer device is going to open up a whole new world of opportunities for you. For your one time investment in a webcam you have the potential of earning anywhere from $2000-8000 per month easy.
